"My Halloween"

Hello dear world

Happy Halloween !!!!!!!!!!!! Did you run into any black cats while you were out ? I didn't thank goodness. My Halloween was a fun one. Why was my Halloween fun you might be wondering ??? Good question. Well earlier tonight my sister, both of my nieces and I went to a friend of ours whose name is Halima. Who is Halima ? Well she is a friend of ours who we have known practically forever. We met her in California when my sister and her were friends when they were both little. When we moved to Georgia Halima and her family moved here as well. She is a very sweet person. She has an older daughter who we grew up with in California. I will get back to all of this later.

Anyway.......my sister, my youngest niece and I went trick-or-treating around her neighborhood. I was dressed up like a devil with a red and black cape and horns on my head. I didn't ask for any candy but my youngest niece got some. My oldest niece went walking around with some of her friends in the neighborhood. While I was with my sister who was at someone's door with my youngest niece I was standing at the person's mailbox. An older guy and ( 2 ) of his children walked up. This guy looked at me and then he approached me......that's not all. He came up to me and started hugging me. He then started rubbing me on the arm. At that moment it felt like he had grown slimy tentacles. He also smelled like he had smoked a liquor store. I then told him that I had to go. The truth is I didn't like him but I didn't tell him that.

Later on I went back to her house where I gave away candy to trick-or-treaters. The daughter of the person I have told you about she is almost the same age as my oldest niece. My oldest niece and her are the best of friends. She is also as tall as my oldest niece. Anyway.......some of their friends popped in. Their friends who are teenagers were quite friendly. I had never got the chance to meet all of them until tonight. I enjoyed talking to them and giving them candy. Some of them came back more than once because I was giving away lots of candy to them. They seemed to have a lot of fun.

On the way home a really nice looking guy waved at me in his car. I said hello back to him as I waved back at him. I have to say dear world that I can't wait until next Halloween. I'm sure it will be as fun as this year. I wasn't planning on going over to do any trick-or-treating but I am glad I did. I got many compliments on my costume which was nice. I had a really fun evening.

I have to say dear world that I couldn't wait to get home to talked to you. I'm sure that tomorrow I will have to come and talk to you as well. I hope that your night was as nice as mine. The weather held up it wasn't too cool outside. On a scale of 1-10........10 being the best. This night was an absolute 10. Of course I have to get up and go to work tomorrow. What will your day be like tomorrow ? I hope your day goes well from start to finish.

Some Notes & 13 Little Blue Envelopes

Hello dear world

First of all I would like to say "Happy Halloween"everyone.So how was your day ? Today in my part of the world the weather was rather nice. It was also another day at work for me. I must tell you the Tiramasu cake from last night was pretty good. My oldest niece also loved it.

As I started telling you I am in the middle of reading a book I bought at Barnes & Noble titled "13 Little Blue Envelopes" written by a writer named Maureen Johnson. In the book there is a young woman named Virginia Blackstone or otherwise called ( Ginny ). She goes to a place and receives  a package from another person who receives it from her aunt to give to Ginny. Inside of the package is a $1,000 in cash for a passport, a one-way ticket from New York to London, and a backpack. Also inside of her package she receives some rules from her aunt. Here are the rules her aunt gives her:

Rule #1: You may bring only what fits in your backpack. Don't try to fake it out with a purse or a carry-on.

Rule #2: You man NOT bring guidebooks, phrase books, or any kind of foreign language aid. And no journals.

Rule #3: You cannot bring extra money or credit / debit cards, traveler's checks, etc. I'll take care of that.

Rule #4: No electronic crutches. This means no laptop, no cell phone, no music, and no camera. You can't call home or communicate with people in the U.S. by Internet or telephone. Postcards and letters are acceptable and encouraged.

Right now I have found out that Ginny is in Rome. She also goes for coffee with a young man who is Italian. After being in Rome she then goes to Paris by train. After getting off the train Ginny finds herself at the Louvre in Paris. She also visits "The Tuileries". After a little bit more reading she ends up going to Amsterdam where she visits the "Rijksmuseum". At the Rijksmuseum she sees Rembrandt's "The Night Watch". After all of that she then makes her way to Copenhagen. That is about how far I have gotten with the story dear world.

All in all do you have any plans for Halloween ? I have to work tomorrow so that's how I will be spending my day.Question:  Have you read any good books lately ? I am hoping that your Halloween will be filled with lots and lots of wonderful treats and fun. Tomorrow I shall be thinking of you.

Just as a note: I know that 13 Little Blue Envelopes might be something of a book for teenagers but Ginny's travels keep you interested at least they did for me. So don't give this book a TKO....Give it a try !!!!!!!

A Really Wonderful Day

Hello dear world

How was your day ? My day began with a trip to one of my favorite stores : Barnes & Noble.

I LOVE Barnes & Noble it is one of my favorite bookstores. I love the place. There's a ton of books there. There are shelves and shelves of book of every category, shape and size. There a poetry section, a self-help section, a romance section, a cooking section, a magazine section, a travel section etc. etc. etc.

My folks and I went to Barnes & Noble as well as my youngest niece went. My oldest niece is at a Confirmation retreat but she will be home in a little while. Anyway.....while I was there I purchased some books one of them is called "13 Little Blue Envelopes". I asked one of the women who worked there if she had any books by Mr. Scalzi and she told me they didn't carry his books but they could order the book I wanted. I was hoping to find his book "The Ghost Brigades" in the Science Fiction section but they also didn't carry it. If your reading this Mr. Scalzi you might want to tell Barnes & Noble that they need to get some of your books into the bookstore for readers like myself. Here's another something else you might want to consider.......you might want to do a book signing at the Barnes & Noble in Fayetteville, Ga which I frequent.

I also wish I lived next to the bookstore because I saw some other books there I would like to read. My dear world did you know that there is an aroma when you first walk into the bookstore that stays with you. The aroma is quite wonderful. Have you ever walked into a bookstore and stood in the doorway for a moment and just smell the place ? Question: Do you have a favorite place you like to visit ?

Before we got home we stopped off at the grocery store. The one we go to is called Kroger. I have a piece of advice for you my dear world.....Do NOT ever ever ever ever go to the grocery store hungry. While I was there I got some snacks for work. Did you know dear world that there are boxes with noodles in them and it comes with different sauce mixes. They have a herb & garlic mix with noodes and another one with a butter & olive oil mix with noodles. The noodles are wonderful I have had them before. While I was there I also purchased a Tiramasu cake which you put into the freezer. When you get ready to serve it you sit it out to thaw and then serve. I can't wait to eat it. I also purchased some TCB hair grease for my hair which is now officially red or what you might call a mixture of red and purple. I just lovvvvvvvvvve it. I love the color of it. The blonde highlights in my hair are gone except for one streak that decided it didn't want to change. So my dear what is the name of your grocery store and what is your favorite thing to get there ?

All in all I had a pretty nice day. The weather wasn't too bad. I didn't know I was going to Barnes & Noble today. How is the weather in your neck of the woods ? Here is a little piece of advice for you:

1.) Don't make any plans over the week.

2.) Just go out and do something you enjoy.

3.) Perhaps you might want to go to some place you haven't been to before.

4.) Try to do something you consider fun.

5.) If you have to work try to do something after work even if its trying a new place to eat.

I really hope that you have a great week. Don't forget to enjoy your Halloween. I really hope you have lots of tasty treats. Until then I will talk to you all again soon.

Saturday's Miscellany

Hello dear world

How are you today ? I am feeling rather good. How is your day going ? Early this morning in my neck of the woods it was a rather grey morning and a little frosty. Its warming up nicely though. Here in Atlanta, Georgia its race weekend though I decided not to go.

Anyway....earlier today my folks and I went to Chick-Fil-A for breakfast which let me tell you the breakfast was delicious. Chick-Fil-A has this breakfast bar in the middle of the restaurant with all sorts of goodies like crisp bacon, scrambled eggs which are my favorite, grits, sausage, biscuits and gravy just to name a few. I had this Bistro dark coffee which wasn't all that good it was alright though.

After breakfast we then went to the Dollar General where they sell all sorts of items for a $1. I got some little items and my folks got some stuff. I got some Halloween ribbons to stick in my hair for Halloween which are rather cute.

After that we then took a ride to Blockbuster to rent some movies. I rented ( 2 ) scary Halloween movies. One of the movies is called "Halloween Night" and the other one is called "Dream Home". I am going to watch them tonight. My folks got a movie called "The Sentinel" which I just finished watching. "The Sentinel" was a really great movie. It included Michael Douglas, Eva Longoria and my very favorite actor Kiefer Sutherland who also stars in a show I watch on television called "24". I must tell you Kiefer is a very talented actor. He can do all sorts of movies like nobody else. He is also very handsome I must say. I would watch any movie he's in because I think his acting is amazing. I would suggest this movie to everyone to watch. It has lots of action and you will love watching Kiefer. So my dear world go out and get this movie immediately.

After getting our movies we then went to a store called Eckerd which is a great place to shop. At Eckerd I bought ( 2 ) Herbal Essences hair dye. The color I bought is called rich auburn brown. Its a very rich color and so I will be doing my hair tonight.

By the way dear world you will be happy to know that my new Voter Registration Precinct Card arrived in the mail. I guess I will have to start doing my research on the candidates before its time for me to go out and vote. Will you be voting this year ? I'm not quite sure who I will be voting for yet but I will do my research. It would be nice if the candidates came to your door so you could get a feel for what they will be doing for people like me who go out and vote.

All in all I had a very busy day. What will you be doing this evening ? I don't have any plans tomorrow. I hope your weekend is a really nice one. I will be thinking of you my dear friends and hoping you are well.

Its Friday And A Little Michael J. Fox

Hello dear world

How are you today ? In my neck of the woods it is a dark, wet and shivering with all of your clothes on kind of day. I spent half of my day at work which went well. On my way home from work I stopped off at Kaiser which is a medical facility. I went there to pick up some medicine for my mom. Anyway....it was raining there and the parking lot was beginning to form itself into a stream because it was flooding. I'm sure that after a little bit more rain there will be bass fishing in the parking lot. It is also raining here at the house. By tomorrow we will wake up to a lake in our backyard. How is the weather in your neck of the woods ?

Question dear world : Do you have any kind of talk radio in your neck of the woods ? I sure do. There are some talk radio hosts in my part of town who are named Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh and a few others.

I have to tell you that I am a huge fan of Michael J. Fox who starred in movies such as "The Secret Of My Success" and "Back To The Future" why am I telling you this ? Well recently I was listening to the radio when I heard Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity make some derogatory statements about Michael J. Fox's illness which is Parkinson's Disease. I think that its sad that such talk radio hosts have to be talking about someone's illness in a rather rude manner on the radio. Michael J. Fox is trying to find a cure for the illness which he is suffering with not just for himself but for others who have the illness.

In my opinion I think that Rush Limbaugh and people like Sean Hannity would want to help contribute to finding a cure to such a terrible illness as Parkinson's Disease. It is sad to hear them talk on the radio because they aren't contributing to finding a cure they are just a part of the problem.

I think that any kind of work done by Michael toward finding a cure for himself and others is a good thing. I really hope that Michael is able to find a cure. I really do think that if people like Mr. Limbaugh and Mr. Hannity had an illness like Parkinson's Disease they would look at their views in a totally new light. They could make their talk radio shows more balanced and informative if they perhaps started fundraisers and charity organizations for such illnesses like Parkinson's and Multiple Sclerosis.

Sorry dear world......I hate to get off on a rant but I just feel that the talk radio shows are focusing on being negative instead of being helpful to those who might need it. Its Wednesday

Hello dear world

How are you these days ? Did you miss me ? Sorry I didn't write yesterday I've been working. Anyway.....these last few days its been cold or in other words glacial, cutting, arctic, polar and pretty much close to below zero. I don't have hypothermia and my fingers didn't fall off at least not yet.

In other news....some of the Atlanta Journal Constitution wasted half of their paper with news of when Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes will be getting married. Now we can all take a sigh of relief and move on with our lives....I really wish Tom and Katie, Angelina and Brad as well as Madonna would pack up and move to somewhere else preferably Mars. I would rather hear about Mr. Clooney....Mr. George Clooney that is. Did you know that he was voted the No. 1 Man's Man according to a list compiled by --------> http://www.askmen.com/ . I first fell in love with him when he starred on ER.

By the way......did you know that Justin Timberlake came out with a new CD ? I can't wait to buy his new CD. He looks as gorgeous as ever. Here is link to see him ---------> http://www.justintimberlake.com/ . I really like his music and I think he is really talented.

Just An Ordinary Day

Hello dear world

How are you ? First things first....there's only 7 more days until Halloween....its time to run out for those spooky snacks and edible eyeballs for those trick-or-treaters. Don't forget those worm pops....just kidding.

Okay.....you will be shocked to know that I did absolutely nothing this weekend but watch television. I saw "The Lake House", "The Ring 2" the 1st "Halloween" and "Children Of The Corn" which was a little bloody.

Of coure today started another week at work for me. It is getting quite cool here in Atlanta, Georgia. If I knew how to put graphics in my journal my dear friends you would be seeing lots of snowflakes, children building a snowman and people skating on a pond. Anyway...it does feel like Winter here in more ways than one. If you don't hear from me tomorrow you will know that my fingers will have fallen off due to me getting hypothermia.

I do have to tell you my dear world that I miss seeing my favorite show "Bones" on television. I hope that its not going off the air. Fox better hurry it along and give me back Mr. Boreanaz A.S.A.P !!!!!!! Excuse me for a moment why I scream at them for a minute .........WHAT'S GOING ON FOX ????? ARE YOU LISTENING ?????? COME ON ALREADY !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'M WAITING !!!!!!!!!!!!! DO I HAVE TO GIVE UP ON YOU FOX ??? HOW MUCH LONGER DO I HAVE TO WAIT ???????? Alright my dear friends I'm done. You have to excuse me sometimes. Please forgive me.

I have a question: Do you read the comic section of your newspaper ? I have gotten to like a few. The newspaper in my neck of the woods is called "The Atlanta Journal Constitution. In the comic section there is one comic strip I like called "MUTTS" which is pretty funny. What comic strips do you have in your neck of the woods ?

I know its pretty late....I have rambled on long enough. I will let you get back to your regular scheduled program but I'll be back !!!!!!!!!!!

Haunted Travels

Good evening dear world

Welcome to Haunted Travels I will be your hostess. First I would like to caution you this haunted travel may make you want to scream or perhaps to run or just make your blood run cold. But if you still want to stay join me for a little time for a ghoulishly haunting evening. 

Our travels take place within a cemetery that is located near a place called the "Waverly Hills Sanatorium" where there is a headstone with a poem carved on it. Did you know that there are reports that 60,000 people died at the Sanatorium. There are also reports of ghostly activity there. The cemetery we're visiting is not very far from the Sanatorium which is why I would like to share the poem with you.

Just A Note

Hello dear world

How are you ? How has your Sunday been ? Its still a little bit cool here in Georgia but its nice. I am happy to report that I am feeling much better today.

Confession

Hello dear world

As you know this is Monae Jenelle Doyle and on Thursday July 1,2004 I started a journal. Today I was doing a little thinking which is probably not a good thing.

Anyway.....this is my confession. When it comes to starting a journal there are many questions you ask yourself.....for example : What are you going to say ? Where are you going to start and would you want someone else to read it ?

Then as you begin you also wonder if you will discover anything new about yourself. You might even ask yourself haven't I learned anything yet ? Sometimes you even wonder if anyone will understand what you have said.

In writing this journal I have been silly, sad, quiet and even mad. Sometimes I might have said the wrong thing or I might have said something stupid. There are also things that I think I shouldn't have said. Oftentimes I think I should hold back at times. I know that I haven't been all that great at expressing how I feel but I still try. More times than not I have been quite hard on myself. At other times I have felt really terrible. I have also made more mistakes than I have things that are right. But a lot of the time I am filled with doubt.

I do have to say that I am glad that I started a journal. I have learned quite a bit about myself. Through my journal I have learned to open myself up which is still hard for me. I have also met many, many people who have inspired me, encouraged me and helped me to look at things in a totally new way. I have also learned that I may not know as much as I should but I am learning along the way. I don't really know if I have changed much but hopefully I have.

So as someone wise once wrote.....

" No matter what, you have to be yourself ! "

Untitled

Hello dear world

Good-evening how are you ? Today a bought a CD by the singer Michael Buble here is a link if you want to see him -----> www.michaelbuble.com/ . Before I go any further let me ask you a question. Have you ever heard a song that transported you to another time....another place ? Well tonight I did. Let me set the mood....

There is a smoky piano bar in the middle of nowhere. In the piano bar a song called "song for you" is being sung by a piano player sitting at an old piano. In the bar there is a man and a woman on a date for the very first time. The couple is sitting at a table at the front which is covered with a fine tablecloth. At the corner of the bar there is a small dance floor and there's people dancing to "song for you".

The man and the woman sit looking at eachother as their hands begin to touch ever so softly. The piano player looks over at the couple and nods as the both of them look over at him as the piano player finishes the song. 

The piano player then starts singing another song called "you don't know me" and in that moment the man leans over and kisses the woman on the cheek. The couple then sit looking at eachother as the piano player sings.

The piano player then ends the song "you don't know me" with another song "you and I". The couple then gets up and goes over to the dance floor as the bar begins to empty. 

The piano player notices that there is a waiter softly putting the chairs up on the tables one by one but he keeps singing. The man and the woman just continue to dance as the piano player sings the last of the song. The couple stop dancing for that moment to look at eachother as the night ends.

Just Some Thoughts

Hello dear world

How are you today ? Today it was a little bit cool here in my neck of the woods but it wasn't bad. You know when Mondays come dear world and it seems like Friday will never arrive. Then without knowing it......its Thursday. Without knowing I woke up today and it was Thursday.

Anyway....of course it was another day at work for me yadda, yadda, yadda, blah, blah, blah. You know I have fallen in love with the movie "Elizabethtown" next to "The Lake House" that is.....here is a link -------- www.elizabethtown.com/ . The music in the movie isn't half bad either. In other news today I watched a movie called "Elizabethtown". It had a love story, a funeral and my favorite actor Orlando Bloom danced in it. You should see it I really liked it.

Anyway. Here's a note for you:

There's nothing better than an Oreo cookie on top of a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup its wonderful.

After Elizabethtown I watched another movie called "The Grudge" which was in my opinion a little bit scary. There is a little boy in the movie and he is terrifying. There is also a woman in the movie who would share the daylights out of anyone. Have you seen any good movies lately dear world ?

Trick Or Treat Through J-Land

Hello dear world

How are you ? Right now its pretty late in my neck of the woods. Earlier this evening I watched a rather scary movie called "Darkness Falls" and let me tell you....you won't want to turn your lights off after watching it. I don't think I will want to turn off my bedroom lights tonight after watching that. I also watched a little bit of a movie I got at Blockbuster called "The Exorcism Of Emily Rose". I couldn't finish watching it because it was quite scary to see. Have you watched any scary movies lately ? Have you seen a scary movie you just couldn't finish watching as I did tonight ? Besides movies what will you be doing for Halloween ?

In other news Kate of bobandkate put together a new 2006/ 2007 Journal Index. She put quite a lot of work into it so drop over, say hello and perhaps add your journal to the mix. So my dear world how was your day ? It was quite cool here in Georgia. How is the weather in your neck of the woods ? I heard that an earthquake hit Hawaii. So far I heard that there were no reports of anyone having been injured. I just hope that everyone is fine and they didn't get too much damage from the earthquake. When I used to live in California we had gotten a few earthquakes but nothing major. My dear friends I hope you are well.

My Day....

Hello dear world

How are you ? I am happy to report that it was a really beautiful day here in Georgia. I spent the day with my family shopping again. We went to a place in my neck of the woods called Big Lots which we love. I bought a really nice container for all of my various stickers, I also bought some decorative Halloween stickers and some coffee drinks. I also spoiled my nieces with some things they wanted. I love spoiling my nieces they seem to love it too. My oldest niece was happy to get a purse that she fell in love with. The purse is hot pink with a white terry cloth handle and on the zippers are some charms that she just loved. I am always more than happy to make my nieces smile. I can't say no to either one of them.

After shopping we arrived home. I spent a little bit of time watering my mother's garden on our upstairs deck. She has quite a garden let me tell you. She has various flowers of every shape, size and color. She has some purple and pink flowers. She has some elephant ears as well. She also has a Magnolia bush which is growing quite a bit. I love watering them even though I have what you might call "A black thumb" when it comes to flowers and plants.

Anyway.....I spent the rest of my night helping with dinner and watching a dvd. I have watched "The Lake House" again and again and again. I have practically memorized the movie line for line. I just love it and Keanu Reeves is superb in the movie he just makes it a classic.

Last but not least......I am happy to report that I put in my votes for the Vivi Awards 2006. Wouldn't you like to know who I voted for ? Well I'm not telling at least not right now. Who did you vote for ? Did you vote for me dear world ?????? hint, hint, hint, hint.

Julia Wilson

How are you ? First of all I would like to share a quote with you.

I would like to share a little bit of news with you. Recently in Sacramento, Calif. 14-year-old Julia Wilson upset by the war in Iraq, vented her frustrations with President Bush last spring on her Web page on MySpace.com. She posted a picture of the president, scrawled "Kill Bush" across the top and drew a dagger stabbing his outstretched hand. She later replaced her page on the social-networking site in which she learned in her eighth-grade history class that such threats are a federal offense. However, it was too late.

Federal authorities had found the page and placed Julia on their checklist. They finally reached her this week in her molecular biology class. The 14-year-old freshman was taken out of class Wednesday and questioned for about 15 minutes by two Secret Service agents. The incident has upset her parents, who said the agents should have included them when they questioned their daughter. On Friday, the teenager said the agents' questioning led her to tears. "I wasn't dangerous. I mean, look at what's ( stenciled ) on my backpack - it's a heart. I'm a very peace-loving person," said Julia, an honor student who describes herself as politically passionate. "I'm against the war in Iraq. I'm not going to kill the President."

Her mother, Kirstie Wilson, said the two agents showed up at the family's home Wednesday afternoon, questioned her and promised to return once her daughter was home from school. After they left, Kirstie Wilson sent a text message to her daughter's cell phone, telling her to come straight home: "There are two men from the secret service that want to talk with you" Apparently you made some death threats against President Bush. Julia responded to her mother's text message "Are you serious ! ? omg. Am I in a lot of trouble ?" she responded. Moments later, Kirstie Wilson received another text message from her daughter saying agents had pulled her out of class.

Julia said the agents threatened her by saying that she could be sent to juvenile hall for making the threat. "They yelled at me a lot", she said. "They are unnecessarily mean".

Spokesmen for the Secret Service in Sacramento and Washington, D.C., said they could not comment on the case.

Wilson and her parents said the agents were justified in questioning her over her MySpace.com posting. But they said they believe agents went too far by not waiting until she was out of school. They also said the agents should have more quickly figured out they weren't dealing with a real danger. Ultimately, the agents told the teen they would delete her investigation file.

Assistant Principal Paul Belluomini said the agents gave him the impression the girl's mother knew they were planning to question her daughter at school. There is no legal requirement that parents be notified. "This has been an ongoing problem," said Ann Brick, an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union in San Francisco.

Former Govs. Pete Wilson and Gray Davis vetoed bills that would have required that parents give consent or be present when their children are questioned at school by law enforcement officers. A similar bill this year cleared the state Senate but died in the Assembly.

Julia plans to post a new MySpace.com page, this one devoted to organising other students to protest the Iraq war.

In my opinion I have to say that I believe Julia didn't mean any harm in what she posted on her Web page. I think that Julia was expressing her thoughts on a matter which she feels strongly on. The agents could have found out that 14-year-old Julia wasn't a threat to National Security or otherwise. I think that her freedom of speech should not be questioned simply because of what she might or might not say. Justice Benjamin Cardozo, who served from 1932 to 1938, wrote of free speech that it is " the matrix ... the indispensable condition of nearly every other freedom. "

It was also written that Justice Louis D. Brandeis believed that the most important role in a democracy is that of "citizen", and in order to carry out responsibilities of that role a person has to participate in public debate about significant issues. One cannot do that if he or she is afraid to speak out and say unpopular things; nor can one weigh all of the options unless other people, with differing views, are free to express their beliefs. Free speech, therefore, is at the heart of the democratic process. To prevent the majority from silencing those who oppose it is the reason the Framers wrote the First Amendment.

As Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes once wrote is "not free thought for those who agree with us but freedom for the thought we hate."

Julia Wilson is my model of free speech.

"Happy Friday The 13th"

Hello dear world

How are you ? It is Friday the "13th". You will be happy to know that I didn't walk under any ladders, open any umbrella's inside and the only black cats I ran into today were on a pair of socks I have which I will explain later in my entry.

Anyway.....Today was another day of work for me. Did I tell you where I work ? If I didn't let me do so now....I work at a place known as the H R Banke Justice Center located in Jonesboro, Ga. Back to what I was saying ------------------------------> ( pressing the fast forward button in my head ). For lunch I treated my mom and my oldest niece to lunch at a restaurant earlier today which was nice. Usually I am with coworkers during the day. My mom and I haven't been to lunch together in a while so we made plans today and yes it was fun.

Before I go on dear world ------------------< ( rewind ) There was quite a bit of goings on at my work today. The sheriff in the county where I live had an inspection today. There was quite a show going on outside and yes the inspection was done and completed.

After work me, my mother and my ( 2 ) nieces took a ride to a store in my neck of the woods called Kohl's which is a really great place to shop. Here is a link if you want to check it out -------->  http://www.kohls.com/ . At Kohl's I purchased some socks with some pumpkins and black cats on them. I thought I would buy the socks for Halloween they are really cute. I also purchased a chocolate vanilla cheesecake scented candle. It is always fun to go there. I also bought a toy for my youngest niece and a really nice pair of earrings that my oldest niece really wanted. They both liked what I bought them today.

After Kohl's we went over to one of my other favorite stores known as JoAnn's. Here is a link if you would like to check it out --------> http://www.joann.com/ . While I was at JoAnn's I bought some decorative Halloween stickers and a few other items. Its really fun to go to JoAnn's during this time of year because there is so much to see inside of it. The shelves were stocked with Halloween decorations, costumes and much much more. I love going there.

Let me tell you dear world one of my favorite items I bought today came from Kohl's which was a necklace with dime sized coins that hang around the necklace. The coins on the necklace are branded with stars on them which I like. The necklace is really nice. Just as my mom and my nieces love shopping I love it too.

So dear world how was your day ? How is the weather there in your neck of the woods ? I can tell you that Autumn has most certainly arrived here in Georgia because it is now quite brisk here and you can tell that Autumn is here. I hope that you have a really great weekend. Its supposed to be cold this weekend here in Georgia so I guess I will have to start wearing a jacket when I go outside.That's about it.

MY DAY

Hello dear world

How are you ? Early this morning I have to say that I woke up feeling great. Today it was also a really nice day outside in my neck of the woods. Anyway...today was another day at work for me which was nice. On my lunch break I went with two of my coworkers who are women by the way. We went to a different gas station today where there was a guy who looked like the very gorgeous actor Michael Madsen. While I was in the store at the gas station I said hello to him and he said hello back to me as well. I really wanted to tell him how nice looking he was but I got a little bit nervous so I just smiled at him a few more times while he was in the store. He also smiled back at me before he left the store and he smiled back at me once again as he got in his car at me as I stood in the door at the gas station. Dear world he was amazing looking.

I also flirted with some of the guys at work who are in the same building as me. Later after a full day of work I stopped off at Kroger where there was a guy who was going into Kroger as I was leaving. I immediately smiled at him and he stopped and said hello to me and asked me how I was doing. I told him that I was doing great as I smiled at him. He smiled at me once again and then he told me good-bye as he once again started up to the entrance at Kroger. I forgot to ask him his name but he had a really amazing smile let me tell you.

All in all it was a wonderful day. How was your day dear world ? Was your day as nice as mine ? I hope that life is treating you good. I will of course talk to you again soon.

STEVIE IS NOT LEAVING.......YEAH !!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello dear world

How are you today ? I'm not sure where to start. I guess first things first. I heard that my dear friend Stevie will be leaving for a while. I will miss him a lot. Stevie became a friend to me in so many ways even though we never met in person. He also touched my life in many ways so its sad to think that he will be gone. I'm sure many of you who knew him too will miss him as I will. For those of you who never got to know him you would feel the same. He is a really great guy and he often made me smile, laugh and he also made me look at things like I have never done before. I am hoping that he won't be gone for long. Stevie if your reading this " We'll Miss You !!!!!!!!! ". Friends, friends, friends stop whatever your doing and listen to some good news. Hear Ye !! Hear Ye !! My dear friend Stevie won't be leaving us after all. He shared the good news with us all and yes I am thrilled about the news. Everyone should run to his journal and give him a big huge J-Land hug for the great news. Those of you who haven't had a chance to know him go over and introduce yourselves you won't be sorry.

In my other news....today was another day at work for me. It was also a rather cool day in Georgia. Yesterday it was Columbus Day did you know that dear world ? Did you do anything special ? I spent the day at work of course. I also went to a pawn shop after work. I saw two DVD's in the pawn shop I wanted and guess what......I got the ( 2 ) I wanted for just $5.00 I was so happy. One of the movies I got was called "The Ring" check out the movie here ----> http://www.ring-themovie.com/ . The other was one of my favorite starring Samuel L. Jackson called "Shaft"here is a link to see him ---> http://www.samuelljackson.com . Any movie with Samuel Jackson in it is a good one. I love pawn shops !! Let me repeat that I love pawn shops !! There's always something to find in a good pawn shop. Each of the DVD'she told me is $5.00a piece but he said he would give me both of them for $5.00 since I told him how much I liked the movies. I couldn't have gotten them at Blockbuster for that price. Anyway...."The Ring" is a pretty scary movie but I like it. "Shaft" is my favorite one of all Samuel L. Jackson is amazing in the movie.

Today was another day at work for me as well. Of course I went to lunch with two of my coworkers who are women. There is a fast food place a few miles away from my work why am I telling you this ??? Well there is a young guy who works at this place that I think isreally nice looking. He is quite tall he looks like he is about 6'8 and he has a really amazing smile. Sometimes I go there with my coworkers to see him. He doesn't know that I go there to see him as well as the burgers there. Today he knew what I was going to order how I don't know. He said what I was going to order before I finished saying it. Perhaps I go there so many times he probably memorized what I order. Usually I order the same things so that's probably why. I know that I sound silly but I thought I would share that with you.

By the way one of my favorite movies is coming on tonight called "Under The Tuscan Sun" with Diane Lane. Have you ever seen it dear world ? Enter At Your Own Risk !!

Good evening dear world....

So dear world how are you tonight ? Since its almost Halloween and those ghosts and goblins are drawing near I have been doing some reading. I came upon some novels I haven't read in a while.......Franz Kafka's "The Metamorphosis" and Robert Louis Stevenson's "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde".

For those of you who might not have read those novels here's a little bit of background on the novels that might get you in the mood for Halloween as well. In The Metamorphosis the young man in the novel Gregor Samsa awakes one morning from some rather unsettling dreams and finds himself changed into a rather large insect. In the novel Gregor comes to find that his family can no longer see him as a human but as the insect he has become. In the end I found that Gregor's family had become disgusted by him. Can you imagine dear world waking up one morning and finding that you've changed into some insect ?

The other book I read was Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. In the novel the scientist Dr. Jekyll drinks a concoction he made which transforms him into the very monstrously evil Mr. Hyde. When Dr. Jekyll goes back to drinking the concoction he changes back into himself. Later on when Dr. Jekyll changes from himself into Mr. Hyde he has gone and trampled with a frenzied appetite on a little girl. Dr. Jekyll finds out about it when he goes back to himself when he drinks the concoction once more. In my opinion I think that Mr. Hyde was already a part of Dr. Jekyll he just used the drink as an excuse and as a way to deny how evil of a person he really is. I wonder what inspired Robert Louis Stevenson to write such a novel as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde ? What do you think dear world ?

"Haunted Travels"

Hello....

I would like to welcome you all to Haunted Travels. I am Almyra and I will be your hostess for the afternoon. Before we begin you might want to make sure all of your doors are locked and your lights are on.

Our tour begins in a town called Tucker, Georgia where there are reports of a family who was once visited by ghosts in their home. The story begins with a couple who had just recently got married and had a found a home they fell in love with little did they know how their home would turn into a home of terror.

It all began on a quiet morning when a woman named Sara was newly married to a man named George Bernard  was driving around Tucker, Georgia who comes upon a house she simply adores. The house was a small victorian 2 bedroom home which she loved. Even though it looked a little old she knew she had to have it. Anyway.....after seeing the house up for sale she drove home to her husband George and new baby filled with excitement at what she knew would be the house she would live in for the rest of her life with her family.

After arriving home Sara ran into her apartment that she lived in with her new husband George and their first new born baby girl Abagail. She ran up to George and told him about the house she told him they had to buy. George was happy about the house that his wife had told him about and so they decided to go see it. Sara and her family drove to the house and they both loved it. From the outside George could see that it was a little run down but he knew that he could take care of the repairs. George, Sara and their new baby walked into their new home for the very 1st time.

The house was half furnished with old furniture and to Sara and George it was home. After a day or two Sara and her family moved into their new home. After a long day unpacking and moving in Sara put her daughter Abagail to bed and her husband and his wife both headed off to bed. For quite a while Sara and her husband George were both sleeping peacefully in their new home. About 2 a.m. Sara awoke to the sound of someone whispering her name. She thought that she had been dreaming so she laid back down and closed her eyes. Once again Sara heard someone whispering her name. She tried to wake up her husband but he was sound asleep and couldn't be woken. She got up and went to her bedroom door and slowly walked to her daughter Abagail's room who was sleeping as well. After a few minutes of checking on her daughter Sara once again heard someone whispering her name. She then walked out into the hallway to see if anyone was there but there was no one there. She softly called out to see if her husband was awake but he didn't answer. She then walked downstairs to find that her television was on. She didn't think anything of it at the time so she went and turned it off. Once again she heard someone whispering her name. She tried not to think of the voice so she walked back upstairs to her room to find that her husband was still sleeping so she laid down next to her husband and went to sleep though she still felt a little uneasy about what she heard.

The very next day while she was feeding her daughter Abagail she told her husband George what she had heard. He told her that she was just dreaming and not to worry. He then went off to work and Sara and her daughter were alone in the house. After a few hours playing with her daughter Sara once again heard someone whispering her name. She pretended not to hear the voice and continued playing with her daughter.

That very night Sara had put Abagail to bed and her and her husband George went to bed. A few minutes of sleep they both awoke to the sound of the bathroom door closing and the water running. They were shaken by what they heard so they went to check on their daughter who was also awake. They picked her up and went to investigate what they heard. George told his wife Sara to take Abagail downstairs which she did. George went into the bathroom to see that the windows in the bathroom were fogged up and the water was running full blast. Seeing what he saw in the bathroom he then called out "Who's there ?" but there was no reply. He then turned off the water and he walked downstairs to his wife and daughter. He could see that his wife Sara was visibly shaken. A few minutes later they heard the sound of the doors upstairs opening and closing and footsteps across the floor upstairs. They decided to call their parents and tell them all about what was going on in the house. Their parents told them to call the realtor who sold them the house which they did. The realtor told them that the house wasn't haunted. That night they went to spend the night at their parents house with their daughter.

The very next day they went back to the house to find that the water in the kitchen was running and the doors upstairs were opening and closing. George went into the kitchen to turn off the water. Sara sat in the living room with her daughter Abagail who was crying along with her mother. Sara once again heard her named whispered to her which she screamed to her husband to come into the room. He hurried to his wife who was quite shaken by the events in the house. After sitting with her husband and her daughter they both felt they could not spend another night in the house. After a few minutes they decided they would go to their parents house.

The very next day they went to the house to pack. Abagail was sitting in a car seat on the bed in her parents room. Sara and her husband jumped when a vase in their room was violently to the floor which made their daughter scream out in tears. Sara and her husband knew they had to leave the house. So they hurried up with as much packing as they could. A few minutes later with Abagail in her mother's hands they quickly hurried downstairs. Before they got downstairs a loud voice screamed out " Get Out !!!!!! ". On the way to the front door the voice once again screamed out " Get Out !!!!!!! ". Sara, her husband and their daughter got to the car and never returned.

To this day Sara and her husband both wonder who and what was in the house. The house itself remains up for sale in Tucker, Georgia awaiting the next family who might come along. Well folks that ends our time here at Haunted Travels. I hope that you will come again soon.

A Running Around Kind Of Day

Hello dear world....

How are you ? Let me start off by saying that my dear friend Helen of "My Everyday Life" is having a birthday today. If you can go over and wish her a "Happy Happy Birthday".

Anyway.....today was another day at work for me which I won't go into detail about there is really no need. The only thing I will tell you is....it was a work filled day.

After I got off of work I immediately rushed out the door with my family to go to my oldest niece's Volleyball game. I am happy to report that the Mercy Bobcats won 2 games out of 4. They all played very well and it was great games to watch. The last game they played was the last game of the season I am sad to report. I myself was never athletic. I can say that my niece played very well tonight I was proud of her.

After the games we went to dinner at a place here in my neck of the woods called "IHOP" otherwise known as the "International House of Pancakes". I had a meal called a "Big Country Breakfast" and I can't lie I did overdo it quite a bit. I had hashbrowns with tons of cheese on top, crispy bacon, biscuits smothered in country gravy, scrambled eggs and 3 buttermilk pancakes with chocolate chips from pancakes from my youngest niece's plate. Honestly I couldn't finish it all and my father ate half of my meal. I will probably have to go on a diet with the eating I have been doing. My family and I didn't get home until late.....I did quite a bit of running around today. I will have to go to work tomorrow. So dear world how was your day ?

A Letter

Hello dear world

How are you ? Let me start by saying that I'm sorry for not writing you yesterday. I was upset after hearing about what happened in Nickel Mines, Pa. in which there was a shooting which happened in a Amish school house. I am still not ready to talk about it but I will tell you about it soon. Anyway....it didn't feel like Autumn here in my neck of the woods it felt as if Summer had decided to make a return visit.

Of course it was another day at work for me but it was a nice day. That lady that I told you about at my work her grandson told his grandmother that he wanted to see me. While I was getting supplies at work he came up to me, gave me a hug and asked me how I was doing. He is a very nice kid I like him. Pretty soon he will be off to junior high and high school and I won't see him anymore and I am sure I will miss him. He probably won't miss me with making friends and things but I will miss him. I'm glad that I got a chance to know him. You would certainly like him dear world. He asks me all sorts of questions and he asks me if I like work and how my job is going. He always makes me laugh when we get to talking.

Anyway......later on during my lunch break I went to a store and there was a guy working at one of the cash registers. When I got to the cash register he smiled at me and he started flirting with me. I liked him so I couldn't help but flirt back with him. While I was flirting with him he told me that he liked the shirt that I was wearing. I wanted to tell him that he should come shopping with me sometime but I DIDN'T. He was a really nice looking guy and it was nice to be flirted with by him. I know I know I am pretty silly.

On that note.......how was your day dear world ? How is the weather in your neck of the woods ? How are you holding up these days ? I hope you are all well. By the way I watched "The Lake House" a few minutes ago and I watched it like I had never seen it before. Have you ever done that ?

My Monday, Monday, Monday

Hello Dear World

How are you ? My day was pretty nice. Before I begin this evening I wanted to let all of you my dear friends know that today is Stevie's birthday. I am sad to report that my friend tks will be leaving us for a while. I would like you all to go over and ask him to come back to us. I'm sure my dear friend will be missed. Now here is what I did today. Of course it was the beginnig of a new week for me at work and you know how Mondays go......busy, busy, busy. I was going going going all day long but it went fine. I did see that lady's grandson that I told you about. He is still a very sweet young man. Let me tell you he has the biggest smile you could imagine. He is just so sweet I like him.

Anyway...after work I went to dinner with my family to a great great great restaurant called "Red Lobster" which by the way is a great seafood restaurant ever. Here is its site if you want to see it ------> http://www.redlobster.com/ . For dinner I had the Seaside Seafood Platter which was amazing. For dessert I had half of my oldest nieces "Chocolate Wave" dessert. The "Chocolate Wave" is a sinfully rich chocolate cake which is layered in chocolate from one end to the other. The icing is chocolate morsels and rich milk chocolate icing with a side of vanilla ice-cream drizzled with chocolate syrup. The chocolate wave was delicious. I hate to admit it but I had to give half to my father because I was full. I also had a drink which was a "Banana Bay Chocolate" smoothie and let me tell you the chocolate was creamy and you could also taste the bananas mixed into the smoothie I l-o-v-e-d it.

After dinner my family and I went to Circuit City which is a great place to shop for CD's and movies. Here is its site if you want to see it as well -------> http://www.circuitcity.com/ . While I was there I bought the new Outkast CD. I also purchased another Keanu Reeves DVD which of course had to be "SPEED" I lovvvvvvvvve that movie. I love Keanu Reeves he is a great actor.

My Morning & My Evening

Hello dear world.....

How are you ? What did I do this morning you might be wondering. Well I watched two of my favorite movies which had Tom Hanks in them. One of the movies was "Turner & Hooch" and the other was "You've Got Mail". Tom Hanks in my opinion is a talented actor but he is also a very nice looking guy. I really like both of these movies they are wonderful to watch on a Sunday morning.

I am also quite happy to report that my oldest niece and her Volleyball team won their Volleyball tournament. They won 7 games and only lost 1. They arrived back to school Friday night with a really huge trophy from the tournament. I am really proud of my oldest niece because I never went out for sports when I was in school. I never thought that I was going to be any good at sports. Forgive me dear world but I am going to boast for a moment.....my oldest niece is far smarter than I ever was and she is quite an athlete. My youngest niece has a very funny sense of humor and she really lights up a room with her presence. I LOVE my nieces they are both wonderful and sweet young ladies.

Anyway....later this evening my family and I went over to a store here in my neck of the woods called Walmart which is fun. Walmart has everything you could possibly imagine from groceries to CD's. I bought a new CD by a young singer named Chris Brown who is a talented young man. My favorite song by Chris Brown is titled "GIMME THAT". I also bought the new Janet Jackson CD which I haven't listened to yet. I will let you know what my favorite song of hers is next time.

On a different note there was a guy at Walmart that I saw while I was shopping with my family. He was really nice looking. It was obvious that he wasn't shaving but it looked nice on him. He also had on a t-shirt from a company that he probably worked for. I didn't get a chance to talk to him but when we looked at eachother he smiled at me. He also looked at me quite a few times. There was just something about him that I liked. I probably should have talked to him but I didn't.

Anyway......that was basically how I spent my day. How was your day dear world ? Did you have a nice Sunday ? I hope your day was a nice one.

In my other news......a woman has been reading my journal recently and I wanted to acknowledge her. If your reading this Diane hello once again I really missed hearing from you. I am glad your back once more my dear friend. I also hope that you and your family are doing well.
