Some News.......

Hello Dear World !!!!!!!

How are you ? I spent most of my day at work of course. I do have some good news for you. Today I am happy to report that Edvard Munch's masterpieces "The Scream" and "Madonna" are safe and sound. They were recovered on Thursday. Two years ago masked gunmen grabbed the national art treasures in front of stunned visitors at an Oslo museum. Many feared the priceless paintings were gone for good but that is not the case. Iver Stensrud, the police inspector who headed the investigation reported that "He saw the paintings and that some of the damage done to the paintings was far from what could have been feared". The Munch Museum was raided on August 22, 2004. Experts from the Munch Museum confirmed that the paintings were the real thing. At a trial this year three men were charged with minor roles in the heist. Norweigan news media reported recently that the convicted mastermind in a bank heist, David Toska, had made a deal for milder terms in a 21-year prison sentence in exchange for the return of the paintings. Police declined comment. "The Scream" and "Madonna" were part of the artist's "Frieze of Life" Series, focusing on sickness, death, anxiety and love. Munch died in 1944 at the age of 80. Stensrud, said authorities believed the paintings had been in Norway the whole time. Stensrud also said no reward was paid.

In other news I would like to share something with you. A guy by the name of Brian Nichols on March 11, 2205 escaped from custody and went on a shooting rampage which left a judge and three others dead. At the time he was being held at the Fulton County Courthouse because he was on trial for rape at the time. He is being charged with the deaths of Judge Rowland Barnes, court reporter Julie Ann Brandau and Sgt. Hoyt Teasley before escaping from the courthouse that Friday morning. He is also being charged with killing U.S. Customs Agent David Wilhelm several hours later. He has pleaded not guilty. Why did I mention this you wonder.........Well recently my work got cameras that will also work with metal detectors at my place of work. It seems like I am paying for his crime more and more and more. Everytime I walk through the metal detector I feel like I am the one being accused of something. I know that the equipment is there for safety reasons but it seems like something that I can't get comfortable with. Brian Nichols shot those people NOT me.

At the moment my brain is pushing the fast forward button fast forward fast forward fast forward fast forward fast forward fast forward. You might be happy to know that one of my other favorite classics "Bridget Jones's Diary" came on television. You might also be happy to know that I am having a relationship actually I am having it with...................4 chocolate chip cookies. Forget you read that. Of course tomorrow begins the weekend and I have no plans and of course not one date to speak of. I am thinking that I might go and drown myself in some chocolate.

By the way.....A friend of mine named David has a journal here at J-Land titled "Sunshine Colorado Notes". His journal is filled with lots of interesting things to see and read. I will be more than happy to share his link with you -------> http://journals.aol.com/dwhee70041/SunshineColoradoNotes/

About the metal detectors, I like having them at high risk locales... I wish they would have them in all the Casinos out here in Las Vegas... I fear they will be future terrorist targets.  You just never know... I figure better to be safe, than sorry!

Good Night & Sweet Dreams,
Diane

Glad that the paintings were found and returned although I cannot say I am keen on The Scream.  Terrible about those killings.  Now you put those cookies down and go find yourself a nice fella
