I'm Home !!!!!!!

Hello dear world

I'm back !!!!! I have so much to tell you. Let me begin by saying that my trip to Florida was totally fun. Our first day at Panama City was filled with great weather.

The first night in Panama City Beach, Florida was wonderful. My family and I checked in at St. Andrews State Park, we set up and then we went for dinner. We took a drive over to our favorite restaurant known as "Pier 77". One of the women who has been working there for quite a while knows us from our many visits. She was quite happy to see us. Me and my mom were sitting outside and she came out and gave us both a huge which was nice. Its always nice to see her she is like a permanent fixture in Florida.

The next day we did quite a bit of shopping in the area. We went down to K-mart and I found myself a new purse. After K-mart we then went to a store next door where we did some more shopping. After shopping we arrived back to our campsite and got ready for the beach. We took a ride over to the beach and it was quite cool at the beach but we made a day of it. I have to tell you that there were quite a few jellyfish seen in the water which was new for us. While we were there my dad and I flew a kite which was a dragon and it flew quite well at the beach. After a few minutes my oldest niece and I walked over the dunes to the otherside of the beach where the waves were crashing. The crystal white sand and the waves crashing made me wish that I had brought a camera with me. There was a guy there taking pictures with professional equipment. I'm sure that he was a professional photographer. Anywho...after the beach we got back to camp and got ready to go out to dinner.

For dinner I treated my family to a restaurant called "Captain Anderson's" and let me tell you the place was beautiful. It was Prom Night at the restaurant. There were lots of young women dressed in gowns covered with jewels and diamonds. One of the women actually looked like Marilyn Monroe hairstyle, gown and all. The young men were also dressed in rather elegantly in finely tailored suits and tuxedo's.

Our dinner wasn't half bad either. I had (2) rather large sauteed soft shelled crabs which were delicious. At the restaurant my dad  had ordered a huge steak and Lobster and my youngest niece had a hamburger and my oldest niece had shrimp. I shared my crabs with my mom and oldest niece which they enjoyed. For dessert I had a really good chocolate cream pie which was really rich in chocolate. All in all our dinner was pretty good and the view of the boats on the water made the night spectacular.

After dinner we then went to a huge store called Alvin's Island which is fun to shop in. At Alvin's Island I bought some stuff for my coworkers including souvenirs. After all of that we arrived safely back to camp and got ready for bed. For the first time in our trip my youngest niece slept with me and I can tell you that she sleeps wild.

The very next day was Easter so we went to a church in Florida called St. Bernadette Catholic Church for Easter mass. The church was packed with people. The priest sounded like he was from Transylvania or Romania. After church we then went to a store where you enter into the mouth of a shark. They sell shirts, necklaces, surf boards, flip flops and other things there. They also have an aquarium inside of the store with a live shark living inside of the tank.

After the store we then went to a place called "Shell Port". Shell Pork carries all kinds of shells from clams to cowrie's. I bought a couple of nice shells there. After Shell Port we drove back to St. Andrews State Park where my family and I saw (4) deers feeding on grass and plants in a little part of the park. Then we drove to another place in the park called "Gator Lake". At the Lake my dad, my nieces and I saw a real Gator resting on a bank. After resting for a little while on the back the Gator slipped back into the water. After Gator Lake where we got to see a real Gator we drove back to our campsite for a little rest.

Then later on in the evening we took a ride to a restaurant called "Capt. Jack's Buffet". I can tell you that the food wasn't good. They had a seafood alfredo which wasn't good and they had some macaroni-n-cheese which had so much cheese that all you could taste was cheese which I didn't like. They also had some fried fish which was overcooked. They didn't have any good desserts like at Captain Anderson's did. After dinner we then went back to camp and went to take our showers. I was happy to find that the water at the shower was hot because the other night we took a shower the water was cold.

I hate to say it but the weather in Florida wasn't all that good. It was cool there while we were there. We saw the weather reports which talked of rain so we decided to pack up yesterday and head home. We spent yesterday packing up the camper and the truck and we headed for home. We did have to stop at a couple of the rest area's to rest for a while before we got back on the road.

I can tell you my dear world that we liked our trip although we wished that the weather could have been better. We are planning to go camping again soon somewhere new. My nieces and I enjoyed the trip and we can't wait until the next time. I have to say my dear world that the one thing I must tell you is that if you ever go camping remember to carry a shower cap with you on your trip. I learned this lesson the hard way.

Anywho.....I am back home and I did miss you all. I thought of all of you while I was gone. I only wish that we could have come home to Georgia without returning to the pollen which is still everywhere but everything is in bloom here as well as my mom's flowers on our deck. Earlier this evening I got to see "84 Charing Cross Road" with my favorite actor Anthony Hopkins which was on television. I haven't seen it in quite a while. I always love watching it.

So my dear world how are you doing ? Did you miss me ? Are you still chugging along ? Jeannette if your reading this I hope you are feeling better you were in my thoughts during my trip. I also hope Helen's husband is feeling better. I hope you are all doing well. Anywho...I am home and I will have to catch up on my journal reading and let you all know that I'm home and can't wait to hear from all of you.

Do take care my dear friends.

Good night !!!!!!!

Sounds as if you all had a good time even if it did turn cool. It was downright cold here over the weekend with the cold temps killing all the pretty flowers and fruit. The leaves on most trees are now black looking. Ken is doing pretty well except he still has a lot of pain in his tummy. Still a long way from being well. Hugs, Helen

Hi Monae... (doing catch up reading here, you know ;o)

Glad to hear all about your Florida Trip, even with the "crabby" weather, sounded like a fun trip nevertheless!  So much so, that it's enticed me to take some time in the near future, to take a trip down to Florida with my family  :O) ... Diane.
