And The Winners For Guest Editors For The Week Are.....

Hello dear world

How are you ? At the moment its pretty cold here in my neck of the woods but thankfully my fingers haven't fallen off ha,ha,ha,ha. I would like to announce at this time the winners for Guest Editors For The Week which are as follows:

The Hadonfield Myers Experience ------ http://journals.aol.com/Hadonfield78/TheHadonfieldMyersExperience

Lone Star Concerto ------- http://journals.aol.com/jayveerhapsody/LoneStarConcerto/

Saturday's Child --------- http://journals.aol.com/ksquester/SaturdaysChild/

Sunshine Colorado Notes --------- http://journals.aol.com/dwhee70041/SunshineColoradoNotes/

Marie's Muses --------- http://journals.aol.co.uk/mariealicejoan/MariesMuses/

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have to say that Marie of Marie's Muses got me to thinking recently with one of her entries "The Dinner Party". Here's the question:

You invite 5 people for dinner....famous or not.....people who will inspire scintilating conversation and dazzle the room with their with and charm who will be your five dinner guests and why ?

For starters my dinner would consist of chicken breasts over a bed of croutons splashed with olive oil with a side of asparagus tied with bacon and mixed vegetables and for dessert I would have cheesecake topped with raspberries with a side of chocolate sauce served with ( 2 ) bottles of wine.

Now on to the guest list:

Anthony Bourdain - I think that besides him being a great cook he is also an amazing writer. He also has a show on the travel channel called "Anthony Bourdain - No Reservations". I think he would add quite a bit to the dinner because I think he's a very interesting person.

Dennis Miller - From his politics and his humor I think that he would have a lot to add to the conversation among the other guests. I would like to ask him some questions as well.

Nora Roberts - From reading her books I find that being that she is a writer I would definitely want to invite her to dinner. I also think that she would be a very interesting person to talk to. I would think that she could offer lots of interest to the conversation. I have often wanted to meet her.

Bill O'Reilly - Since I have heard his political commentary on the Fox News Channel I would want to include him as a guest. Being that I have disagreed with him on his views I would want to talk to him and ask him a few questions. I would also like to see how he handles the different conversations with the other guests at the table.

Kiefer Sutherland - Being that I have always been a fan of his I certainly would want to invite him as a guest to the dinner party. I would definitely like to have a conversation with him and to get to know him face to face.

To the guest list I have some extra people added:

Jon Stewart - From his Daily Show on Comedy Central I would be so excited to have him come to dinner. I think that he would add quite a bit to the conversation along with his humor and his insight.

R. Brimm - This guy would be on the top of my list. Being that I have been a huge fan of his writing and his poetry I would most certainly like to have him as a guest. I definitely would like to talk to him in person. There is so much I would like to ask him as well as talk to him about.

Jack Black - Seeing his movies and being a huge fan of his I would be more than happy to have him come to dinner. I know that it would be interesting to talk to him with the others at the table. I also think he has a tremendous sense of humor so that would be an added plus.

Sean Hannity - I would say that being that I have heard him on the radio and on the Fox News Channel as well I would want him to be a guest as well. I don't agree on certain things he says just like Mr. O'Reilly so I would definitely want to talk to him about a few things as well.

Jimmy Carter - Being that he was friends with Mattie Stepanek and been a President in The White House I would definitely want him as a dinner guest. I also think that from the books he's written I would also like to talk to him about a few things.

Rosie O'Donnell - I would also like to include Rosie as a guest because I too would like to talk to her. I think that she would add something to the conversation but I do have a few little things that I don't exactly agree with her on. I would like to talk to her and get to know her. I would like to hear her opinions about world views.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So my dear world who would you like to invite for dinner ? Who would you most like to talk to ? I would love to have you all over for dinner but we will save that for another time. I hope you had a wonderful day. I will talk to you again soon.

Ciao !!!!!!!!!!!

A Poem I Would Like To Share

A Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday Poem

Monday says "I will not come today"

as Tuesday quietly lies dreaming in bed

Wednesday decides that it won't come out to play

while Thursday says "I will only come when the sky is full of red"

Friday says "I would prefer to be Saturday"

and a quiet Sunday whispers softly "I'm going out to the store to buy some bread".

The Elijah Cup And Some Other News

Hello dear world

How are you ? I know its been a couple of days since you heard from me but here I am once again. Okay, okay, okay first things first.....This morning my family and I went to our Church in our neck of the woods which is named "St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church". We went to 9:00 a.m. mass which was nice. At the end of mass my family and I received what is known as The Elijah Cup. What is The Elijah Cup you may be wondering ? Well every couple of Sundays different people and families receive The Elijah Cup so that they can pray for people to have a vocation whether it be to the Priesthood or to the Religious Life. The Elijah Cup also comes with a journal in which anyone can enter a thought, prayer or Scripture verse.

I have to say dear world that vocation is defined as an occupation for which a person is particularly suited or a calling to a religious life. Dear world some people know automatically that they are interested in being either a teacher, doctor, painter, lawyer, banker, mentor or like those on American Idol, a singer. Some people know that they want to play a sport like Baseball, Football or Hockey professionally. Others simply know they want to go out for the Olympics. Others know they want to explore the Universe in space and some want to travel all over the world. For me I don't know. I can't say that I have any particular talents. Some people like Robert James Waller, Nora Roberts, John Scalzi, Hadonfield Myers, Margaret Wise Brown, R.Brimm and J.K. Rowling are writers with lots of talent.

Anywho.....I wanted to share a little news with you. A few days ago a friend of mine sent me a package in the mail. The package included a letter and a book titled "Letters For Emily". I have to tell you dear world that there's nothing better than getting something in the mail from a friend. By the way my friend's name is Rebecca Anne. That's all I'm going to tell you for now because I will be sending her a letter in the mail as well so I don't want to give away all of the information.

In other news....today I watched "You've Got Mail" on DVD with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. I also bought some brown coffee colored socks with the words "Tall, Decaf, Nonfat Latte" on them. I call them my "You've Got Mail" socks. During the movie I ate some Mayfield Birthday Cake ice-cream with chocolate syrup is that weird ????

I would also like to report that the conclusion of Masterpiece Theater's Jane Eyre is coming on tonight at 9:00 p.m. I told you about it recently in one of my other entries. Jane Eyre is one of my favorite classics of all time.

So my dear world what did you do today ? How are things in your neck of the woods ? Is there anything you wanted to share with me ??? I will certainly be talking to you again soon. Take care my dear world.

Byyyyyyyyye !!!!!!!!!!!!!

American Idol, Some News and The State of the Union

Hello dear world

How are you ? First things first....This evening I watched American Idol again which I must say is a guilty pleasure. Some of the guys on the show did really well singing and others well....you just had to wonder why they would go on the show. There was a woman at the end who seemed a little strange actually I thought she needed to seek professional help. You might also want to know that my favorite show "BONES" will be returning to Fox next week I can't wait.

Anywho...the other night I watched the President's State of the Union Speech. Here is a link if you want to read some little background ----> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_of_the_Union_Address . I have to say that its quite clear that the troops won't be coming home anytime in the near future. Its also clear that the war in Iraq will go on as it always has. I don't think that anything will change since hearing his speech. Question my dear world: Why is it that everytime the President says something that the entire room has to clap afterward ? It was like watching a room full of people training a seal doing tricks for the very 1st time.

In other news I was catching up on my reading at J-land and I found out that I couldn't read Stevie's journal "-The Life of Ste-" I am wondering did I do something wrong ?

How is the weather in your neck of the woods dear world ? It has been bitterly cold here  in my neck of the woods. What's been going on in your part of the world ? I just thought I would pop in for a few minutes and say hello. That's about it for me its pretty late. So until then.

Ciao !!!!!!!!!!

Walden or Meme

Hello dear world

How are you ? I thought I would pop in for a little while. Chris over at inane thoughts and insane ramblings----> http://inanethoughtsandinsaneramblings.blogspot.com/ posed a very interesting question....."I have to wonder if the phenomenon of blogging is diluting the available pool of literary talent. Is blogging robbing us of the next great author ?" He also wrote "Twenty years ago, if someone wanted to write, they wrote. Whether on stone tablet, paper & pen, typewriter, or word processor, they wrote. His words got me to thinking which is probably never a good thing for me since I never make sense anyway.

Anywho....do you suppose my dear world that if Robert Louis Stevenson would have had a computer in which to blog that he would have written Treasure Island ? Perhaps even more my dear world that if Mary Shelley would have had access to a computer in which to blog that Frankenstein would have been born ? And what if Anne Frank would have had a computer in which to blog while she was in hiding in the Secret Annexe that she would have put words to paper at all ?? Just think what if Henry David Thoreau would have had a computer with him in which to blog, would he have written Walden ? or would he have done a little meme about "How To Build A Cabin ?" Or its possible that if Thoreau would have been distracted by blogging, maybe he would have written "101 Things To Do While Living Alone".

For me, writing in my journal/diary is an outlet. My thoughts are often scattered so I come here and write. I too have gotten feedback, encouragement and helpful advice and opinions. I try to write things that are in my head and simply as a little run down on my daily activities in my life. Sometimes I'm just plain silly.

I try to visit other people's blogs and journals so I can read how other people are doing in their lives, especially those people who take the time to come and visit me and give me the gift of their friendship. Chris also writes that "I believe it serves a great purpose. I just think that some great potential authors might never write that classic novel that is within them, because they are content to write in small doses on a blog."

I think that writers like Mary Shelley, Robert Louis Stevenson, Henry David Thoreau and Anne Frank even with blogs would have kept writing because blogs are both thought provoking and inspiring. I may still keep a handwritten journal but I am still in love with the blog.

What do you think dear world ??

A Masterpiece Theater Classic

Hello again dear world

How are you ? Its cold and raining here this evening in my neck of the woods but I am well. I wanted to share some news with you. A few minutes ago I was watching Masterpiece Theater on the Georgia Public Broadcast channel which showed "Jane Eyre" here is the link ----> http://www.gpb.org/ . The version I saw tonight was an old version which I enjoyed. An actress named Ruth Wilson played Jane Eyre, Toby Stephens played Edward Rochester. I have to say that Charlotte Bronte's 1847 love story is still an endearing classic to watch. I loved Toby Stephens as Mr. Rochester he really brought the character of Edward to life. I also liked Ruth Wilson as Jane she portrayed the character wonderfully. I liked the old version I saw tonight more than the new version much more. I have never seen this version on DVD I will have to hunt for this because I would like to see this again.

So my dear world what did you do today ? Are you a fan of the movie "Jane Eyre" as I am ? I do hope that your weekend was a nice one. We will have to talk again later. I just had to come and tell you about this wonderful movie I watched on Masterpiece Theater. There is nothing better than a old classic on a cold rainy evening such as this one.

By the way has any of you seen any funny commercials lately ? I have. I was watching a commercial this evening for a sleep aid called Rozerem which I thought was rather funny. Here is the link --> http://www.rozerem.com/ . Let me know what you think ?

That's about it for now. I shall leave you now. Sleep well everyone.

Sleep Well everyone.

Just A Quick Note

Hello dear world

How are you these days ? I'm doing well but it is rather cold here in my neck of the woods. I don't have much on my mind today besides silliness. Today I have been indoors keeping warm and toasty and out of the freezing outdoors. I have also been watching some television especially the food network. There were different restaurants competing in a steak championship which was wonderful. I am now hungry for a nice juicy tender ribeye steak just like the ones I saw on television. After the competition I watched the show "Throwdown With Bobby Flay" who was competing with another guy in making doughnuts which looked really good just like the steaks from the other show. I would love a ribeye and a doughnut for dessert right about now.

Well my dear world what are you up to ? I would also like to know how is the weather there in your neck of the woods ?

Here are a few links for you to look at
