Saturday News.....

Hello everyone

Good evening all !!!!!!!! How is everyone today ? I hope you all had a nice Saturday. It has been rather cold in my neck of the woods lately. I guess Winter has officially arrived.

Anywho...today my niece's and I went to Blockbuster video. I got a movie called "The Merry Gentleman" by Michael Keaton. Here is the link if you want to check it out ---> http://www.themerrygentlemanmovie.com/ . I will have to let you know how it was after I see it. My oldest niece got a scary movie called "Trick 'r Treat" and Razortooth. My youngest niece Megan got a Scooby Doo movie which she wanted.

I and my mom saw the movie "The Merry Gentleman" and we both liked it. I thought that Michael Keaton did a great job in the movie. He was also quite nice looking in the movie. I am hoping that this movie gets an academy award. I also think that Michael Keaton should get a ton of awards for the movie and his performance which was amazing. I highly recommend this movie as a must see.

The book I have been reading "Rough Weather" is pretty good. Robert B. Parker is a very good writer. I am enjoying it and I can't wait to see what happens next.

All of us at our house are connected with cellphones. My dad has one, I have one, my mom has one and my oldest niece has one so we are pretty much connected. It seems that everyone has a cellphone now a days and you can stay in touch with everyone. I use it a lot and I am enjoying my phone immensely. Cell phones are useful but they also can drive you a bit nuts. I am a bit addicted to texting which is a bit part of my cell phone use. If you would like my cell phone number please do feel free to send me an e-mail and I will be happy to give it to you.

So how was your day my dear world ? Is it cold in your neck of the woods ? I hope you are enjoying your weekend as I am. I just finished making some Halloween cupcakes with my youngest niece Megan which are quite good. They are the color of a pumpkin with Halloween sprinkles.

I hope you continue to have a spooktacular weekend

Update....

Hello everyone

Good evening everyone !!!!!!! I know I haven't been around in a few days. It has been raining and cold recently in Georgia. Well here I am.

Anywho...I woke up late this morning to go to work but I made it to work. Today was "HAPPY BOSS'S DAY" so I bought my boss a rather huge funny card with some lottery scratch off's which he enjoyed. I am glad he liked the card. My boss is a rather cool guy and I am glad that he saw that my coworker's and I thought of him on this day.

I also got a card for my mom since she had to go to the hospital for a surgery to see what was causing her to have bleeding in her urine recently. The doctor's didn't find anything bad thank goodness. She is home and recovering.

I did finish reading "The Sugar Queen" by Sarah Addison Allen which was a rather good book. I am about to start another book titled "Rough Weather" by the writer Robert B. Parker. From the cover it looks like a really good book. I can't wait to start reading it. In "The Sugar Queen" I liked Josey, Della Lee, Adam and Chloe in the book. You have to read it because it is well worth reading. I highly recommend it.

So how are you my dear world ? I hope that all is well in your neck of the woods. Is it cold in your part of the world as it is here ? That's all for now.

I want to wish you all an early "HAPPY HALLOWEEN". Have a spooktacular weekend !!!!!!!!!

Quite A Day Yesterday....

Hello everyone

Good evening everyone. How is everyone today ? I hope you are all well. I have to say that my day yesterday was filled. Yesterday my folks and I and my youngest niece Megan went to eat at Chick-Fil-A. The food is always good at Chick-Fil-A. We then headed out to Woodstock to see our trailer. When we got there we found out that the people had taken our trailer to a place called the Insurance Auto Auction so we could not see our trailer.

A few minutes later we went to a couple of camper places in Acworth, Georgia which was fun. I saw a camper trailer I liked. It rained a little bit but not heavily. After looking at a couple of camper's we went to my favorite place "Barnes and Noble". I ended up getting a book of poems my mom found for me at a bargain price, a couple of small green notebooks for my mom and I, a book titled "The Sugar Queen" by the writer Sarah Addison Allen. I also bought a camping magazine for my dad that he wanted. I have NEVER read any of Sarah's books so it will be nice to read a book by a writer that I have NEVER read before. I have to say that sometimes you have to step outside of your comfort zone and read a book by a writer that you have NEVER read before. Sometimes you have to read something new that you have never tried before.

Before we went home we stopped off at El Pollo Loco. I got (4) things of churro's which are sweet cinnamon stick's. The churro's were good. So how was your weekend my dear world ? I hope you had a really nice weekend. The weather today has NOT been bad it hasn't rained at all. How are things in your neck of the woods ?

That's all for now. I'll talk to you again later.

Inspired....

Hello everyone

Good evening everyone. How are all of you today ? This entry was definitely inspired by one simple thing....a card with a letter.

Today I received a card with a letter from a friend. It seems that yes I have done my fair share of e-mails, instant messaging and texting on my phone. The thing this I forgot how wonderful it is to simply sit down and write a letter. I have written to a few people just because. I find that I enjoy getting a card and a letter in the mail and some people call it......snail mail. No matter what you call it. I love finding a letter from someone out there in the world who wants to share a few thoughts with me.

This person mentioned a few books in the letter which I remembered that I had one of the books that she mentioned and I found it. I will definitely have to read the book she mentioned. She has such a way with words and with writing that I fail in comparison to her. She writes letters that I could NEVER write. She has such a poetic way of writing that it is wonderful to get a letter from her.

I don't really know if you my dear world enjoy letters and writing letters as I do. I find that when people are at the post office they are talking about sending off bills and inventory and supplies for this and that. No one mentions sending off a letter just because. I think it would be wonderful to hear that at the post office but it NEVER seems to happen.

Perhaps the art of letter writing is going away with the invention of such technology as the computer, the cell phone and the instant messaging that we have in the world but I think that is such a sad thing. I hope that I am wrong in thinking that the art of letter writing is becoming....extinct.

My dear world......if you would take a moment and get a card or a piece of paper and do me one little favor...sit down and write someone a letter.

Perhaps you might want to send me one. Take care and thanks for listening.

Sincerly Yours,

Monae

On A Lighter Note....

Hello dear world

Good evening everyone. How is everyone today ? I hope you are all well. We had a bit of drizzle yesterday but not a lot. It was a very busy day at work for me. My family and I are doing well.

My dad is NO longer a Deputy Sheriff at the courthouse. He does do work on the 4th floor where I work however. He is still retired but he is working part time. Anywho....on his way home from work yesterday he stopped off at the package store. His ranger truck did NOT start up so he called my mom. I went with my mom in the our Navigator with the jumper cables which also did NOT work. We took him home first to get this tools once we got to the package store. We then went back to the package store and he got the old battery out of his truck. We had to take him to the Auto Zone where he bought a new battery for his truck. We got back to the package store and my mom and I waited around until he installed the new battery into his truck which worked thank goodness.

When we got home my mom cooked some smoked sausage on a english muffin with some rice a roni noodles which are always good. I am still in the middle of reading "The Brass Verdict" by Michael Connelly. The book is quite good.

Today was another busy day at work for me. It did rain quite a bit today in my neck of the woods. In "The Brass Verdict" Harry Bosch and Mickey Haller decide to work together to solve the murder of Jerry Vincent. The guy who attorney Mickey Haller is defending in court is out on bail which is $20 million dollars. The story is quite interesting and I really like the book.

Its NOT supposed to rain tomorrow however. I will have to work tomorrow again. My favorite show "BONES" will be coming on television with David Boreanaz who is one of my favorite people on the show.

How are things in your neck of the woods ? I hope that things are going well. How has your week been ? I hope you all enjoy the rest of your week ahead. That's all for now. I will talk to you again soon

Take care everyone

I AM QUITE UPSET !!!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone

Good evening how is everyone today ? My folks and my older niece went out today to get groceries and a few other things. I stayed in with my niece Megan. It was a little cold in my neck of the woods. It is officially Autumn in Georgia and so I wanted to change my blog colors for the season. How do you like the color ?

Anywho....I am a little upset for a particular reason. Some might NOT know that I am a huge huge Jane Austen fan. I have to say that I am boiling mad at the fact that there are some books being written which I can't say I like. I do like books don't get me wrong but a few writers have gone too far.

My Jane Austen favorites are being turned into horror books which is way way way over the limits of my liking. I saw in "Barnes and Noble" that Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensibility" is being turned into "Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters". I also saw that my most favorite "Pride and Prejudice" is being turned into "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" which I think is wrong. I can't say that I like the fact that my Jane Austen classics are being turned into a horror flick instead of being kept as a great classic piece of literature. What is it about classics that they have to be turned into the latest theater horror flick ? I am absolutely NOT happy about this change.

I am sorry for going off on a rant but I have to say that there is something wrong about such change. Why can't writer's enjoy a great piece of writing without wanting to turn it into the latest Zombie flesh eating and scary sea monster piece's of art ? I think that these writer's should appreciate a great piece of writing instead of turning them into a horrific piece of so-called whatever it is book. I am disturbed by this latest turn of events. What is going on in the world that Jane Austen's writing has to be changed into something that is becoming so hard to recognize anymore by readers such as myself ?

Can't a great classic be kept as what it is anymore ??? What is going on with all of these writers ??? Can't a decent writer recognize that if something IS NOT broken why fix it if it does NOT need fixing ?

Sincerly,

This upset reader in Georgia

I Love Saturdays....

Hello everyone

Good evening to everyone !!!!!!! How is everyone today ? I hope you are all well. I have so much to share with you that I don't know where to begin. Where to begin ? Where to begin ?

Well a whole new month is here. September went by fast. Anywho...I finished reading "Olive Kitteridge" by Elizabeth Strout. I think that the book was quite good. I find that I liked Olive Kitteridge and I think that she wasn't a bad person at all. I think that Elizabeth Strout is a terrific writer and I hope that she writes more books like Olive Kitteridge.

The book I am reading now is "The Brass Verdict" by the writer Michael Connelly. In the story is a man named Mickey Haller who is a defense attorney. In the book Mickey's former colleague Jerry Vincent is killed and Mickey inherits his biggest case yet which is defending a Hollywood producer accused of multiple murders. So far the book is pretty good.

Today my folks and I and my niece's went to a place called "PECO Camper's" which is located in Tucker, Georgia. We looked inside several camper's with one of the guy's who work's there. We did see some we liked but in the end we found a Coachmen camper that we fell in love with especially my dad. We might just end up getting a new camper pretty soon as the insurance company contacts my parents about our camper that ended up getting trashed in the flood in Woodstock.

After the camper place we drove to Kohl's. my niece Megan and I went to JoAnn's. I found some sticker's I like and I bought her some stickers she liked. When we left JoAnn's we went out to eat at "La Parrilla" Mexican restaurant. The food is always good there. I got a chicken quesadilla with a side of avocado. The quesadilla was quite good. There's always people at La Parrilla.

Earlier in the day after JoAnn's we went to "Dick's Sporting Goods Store". My dad spent half the time there looking at fishing poles. My niece's and I just looked around in the store.

We also went to my favorite store "BARNES & NOBLE". My mom found me a book by my most favorite writer Nora Roberts titled "High Noon" which she found for me upon entering the bookstore. I also got me the book "Prayers For Sale" by the writer Sandra Dallas. I also purchased a bookmark with my member's card which comes in handy for buying books there.

So how was your day my dear world ? I hope you had a really nice Saturday as I did. How are things in your neck of the woods ? I hope that you all had a nice start to your weekend. I do love Saturday's !!!!!!!!!

Take care everyone
