If you go back and read what you've said and give some thought to the incident you will notice a big difference which makes what you've said invalid. Imus targeted the Rutgers basketball players directly. Tho I abhore the singers you mentioned in your article because of their disgusting lyrics and put down of women in general their songs are not targeting anyone specifically. Where as Imus and his producer mentioned the Rutgers team directly. To protest his actions has nothing to do with censorship. It is simply a response to a very disgusting attempt at humor targeting a specific group of women whose actions in general were decent and admirable and who did not deserved to be belittled as they were.

As far as your anger is concerned might I suggest you give thought to what you just wrote. We are no where near losing our freedom of speech. If you look around you won't miss all of the digusting verblage showing on TV. Especially on cable and satelite. How long was Imus on MSBC saying insulting and decrepit thingsabout all sorts of people. No dear we are no where near losing our freedom od speech. We are, however, loosing and maybe already have lost the freedom of press. Not because of big brother watching us but big brother deregulating the press thus narrowing the ownership of all media to just a handful of conglomerates who own and control most of what we see, hear and read as media. No dear, big brother, in the sense you are speaking is not the enemy.

SpencerAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8852370587144984812.post-87428364515720590212007-05-28T04:41:00.000-07:002007-05-28T04:41:00.000-07:00"ditto" to yeolecontractor's comments ... but I ha..."ditto" to yeolecontractor's comments ... but I have to admit, Imus shouldn't have been yanked off air for his ignorant, racist remarks ... Instead, the lady basketball players should have been offered a chance to horse whip his dumb a$$!!!... LOLAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
