A Day At Barnes & Noble

Hello everyone

Good evening everyone !!!!!! I hope you are all well. I wanted to say that I hope that you had a nice Memorial Day as I did. I do want to say that I hope that our troops in Iraq and in other parts of the country are doing well.

In other news today my family and I went to my favorite bookstore "Barnes & Noble" which I love, love, love. It is filled with books that I would love to read but there are just so many that I couldn't read them all. I did get a few books including :

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
Windless Summer by Heather Sharfeddin
The Red Leather Diary by Lily Koppel
Good Poems for Hard Times by Garrison Keillor

I also got a really nice bookmark and a small Japanese notepad my mom wanted. We also went to Starbucks which is inside of the bookstore. I ended up getting a coffee frappuccino and my mom got a grande cappuccino dry which she wanted. I got my youngest niece a cupcake. Being at Barnes & Noble was really fun. I can't wait to read my books and I can't wait to go back. I used my Member's card to pay my book which I get a discount for.

So how was your day ??? I do hope that all is well in your neck of the woods. Tomorrow I will have to go back to work after being off for the weekend. This Friday I will be going to the Museum at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta which I hope will be fun.

Anywho...take care everyone

A Nice Day....

Hello everyone

Good evening to you all. How is everyone ? I hope you are all well. I am enjoying my Memorial Day weekend with my family. Today my family and I took a ride to our movie theater called Tinseltown which is a really nice movie theater.

First we went to a place called "Steak-n-Shake" for lunch. I ended up having a BLT with NO lettuce and NO tomato. My folks and my niece's also enjoyed their lunches. I ended up treating them for lunch which was fun.

After lunch we got to the movie theater to see the movie "Night At The Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" which was a great and funny movie. My family also loved it and they thought it was very funny as well. My niece's also loved the movie and they had fun at the theater. When we got out of the theater it was raining really hard so my dad went to go get the car and we had to run to get into the car which was an adventure in itself.

Once we got near the house it wasn't raining at all so we decided to go to Kroger to pick up a few groceries. I paid for the groceries and I let a lady that only had 1 item in her hand go ahead of me just to be nice. She thanked me before she left and I was proud of myself for doing something nice for someone.

Anywho...how are you enjoying your Memorial Day weekend ? I do hope that you had a nice weekend as I did. I can't wait to go to the High Museum of Art with my mom next week I am sure that it will be interesting. I will have to let you know how it was. I wonder if it will be filled with lots of painting's and such. I think that it will be fun and I will tell you all about it next week.

By the way while I was at Kroger I did pick up a book called "Gone Tomorrow" by Lee Child. At the moment I am trying to finish reading "The World War I Diary of Simone Spencer". Simone is a switchboard operator in the army and her brother Will also enlisted in the army. It is a pretty interesting book.

That's about all for now. I'll talk to you again later. Good night.

A Nice Treat....

Hello everyone !!!!!

How is everyone ? I hope all is well with you and your family and in your neck of the woods. I do have some news for you. Last night I treated my folks to dinner at the Olive Garden Italian Restaurant. My mom and I had the grilled shrimp caprese with a salad and the caprese flatbread as an appetizer. I also had the Venetian Sunset as a drink. Our dinner and our appetizer was quite good.

After our meal we ordered the Black Tie Mousse Cake which was quite rich and good. We shared the dessert together since we ordered just one of the cake's. They had a good time having dinner with me.

I did have to go to a cook out at our main headquarters and everyone was there including the Prison Warden and a few other head job managers. I didn't eat a hot dog or a hamburger but I did eat some of the dessert's which included a chocolate eclair pie which was quite good and some brownie's that they had and some vanilla ice cream. My coworker's and I went to the cook out together. Once we got back to the courthouse we were able to leave early for the day. My coworker's and I will be off for the weekend and for the Memorial Day weekend.

Next friday I will treat my mother to the High Museum of Art in Atlanta for the very first time. We have NEVER been there before and I wonder what its like inside of the museum. I also wonder if there will be a lot of people at the museum next week. I am wondering what we will see inside of the museum. I think it will be quite interesting to see all of the paintings and the sculptures in the museum. I will have to let you know how it is next week. Here is the link for the museum ----> http://www.high.org/

Anywho...how are things with you ??? How are things in your part of the world ? I do hope that all is well and I hope that you all have a great weekend.

Take care

Un...News Worthy

Hello dear world

How is everyone ? I just wanted to come by and let you know that I'm still around. I haven't been doing much of anything except working working and obviously working. I am still working at the H.R. Banke Justice Center in Jonesboro, Georgia here is the link -----> http://www.co.clayton.ga.us/hr_banke/index.htm . It is a courthouse.

The reason why I am telling you this is that today my coworker's and I had to go and get new badges in the Sheriff's Office which is located in our building on the 2nd floor. I also had to get a new swipe card since my old one decided to permanently retire. I guess I still have a job since I am with a new badge and I have NOT been erased from the computer. I am an employee of Refuse Control at the Clayton County Courthouse and I have been there over 5 years now. The people are great and the place is pretty busy on a daily basis.

In other news my oldest niece just went to her senior prom and she was quite beautiful in a long burgundy gown. She will soon be graduating from High School pretty soon.

So how are things in your neck of the woods my dear world ?? It has been a little cool here but not too bad. I do hope that all is well with you. You might be busy yourself so I won't keep you any longer.

Bye

Favorites.....

Hello everyone

Good evening to you all. I hope everyone is well. I was reading a blog called "Provocation of Mind" which is a favorite of mine here is the link ----> http://www.provocationofmind.com/ . The blog got me to thinking about sharing a few thoughts with you. I'm NOT sure anyone will read this or find it at all interesting but here it goes.

I have been doing some book reading lately. As some of you may know I like to read books and I like to find different books. I got to thinking about favorites....books and writers that is. Some of you may say that Hemmingway or Faulkner or Thoreau is a favorite writer but to me my favorites have been : Nora Roberts, Tami Hoag, Danielle Steel, Debbie Macomber, Sherryl Woods and a few others.

What is it about a favorite book or writer ? In my opinion its a story about a person, a place, an adventure, travels, friendships formed and perhaps....finding love. Some may say that its about a certain subject like cooking, a courtroom drama, a topic to research but to me its always about what interests me.

I find a certain person in a book that I either find smart or a guy that I instantly fall in love with or a place that I have always wanted to travel to. Sometimes I find that I get lost in a person's life and what he/she is going through. Sometimes its just about two people meeting for the very first time and falling in love or just sharing a friendship.

I don't know to me favorites always......remain. A favorite is always a book that I find that I can't wait to read the pages and fall into a story that I never want to end. Isn't it something to find a favorite ???

Isn't it something ???

Surprise....Its Me

Hello dear world

Good evening everyone !!!!!!! You have probably been worried sick about me since I haven't been around in a while and let me tell you its been a long couple of days.

First it rained a lot in my neck of the woods of Atlanta, Georgia. It rained and rained and rained and yes....rained. Anywho I have been busy busy busy busy at work and I have been busy with my family as well.

Last night I treated my mom to a early Mother's Day dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse and my father and my niece's were with us. Our dinner was quite good. My and my mom had the Outlaw Ribeye which was quite good and juicy. I also had a caesar salad for dinner. My dad had a filet with a lobster tail. My niece's also enjoyed their dinner.

Before we went to dinner we stopped off at Hancock Fabric where I got some sticker's for my youngest niece and some stickers that I wanted. I also bought some milk chocolate's and a milk chocolate gold bunny from Lindt. I also bought some Lindor truffle's.

We got home in time to see my show "BONES" on Fox which is my favorite television show. Here is the link ----> http://www.fox.com/bones/

Today of course was another day at work for me. There is a guy at work that I am starting to like which he doesn't know. He and I haven't talked until today I made him laugh and smile. I think that he is such a nice looking guy. He just started at our work and I think that I can't wait to get to talk to him again soon. He seems to be a pretty nice guy and I don't know what he thinks about me yet. I will let you know more about him later.

Earlier this evening my mom and I and my niece's went to Blockbuster Video and we all ended up getting some movie's. My mom and I picked out a movie called "NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH" with Matt Dillon which I must tell you is a very very very good movie. She liked it and so did I. I highly recommend the movie as a must see movie. The twist of the movie comes at the very end and it will leave you surprised and shocked. I will tell you about the other movie's later.

So my dear world how was your week ??? Did you miss me any ??? I do hope that all is well in your neck of the woods. I am hoping that you will have a great weekend ahead.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you mother's !!!!!!!!!!!

Take care all !!!!!!!!!!
